The Golden Hour Rule

The light is warm and soft, preventing harsh reflections off the water. Midday sun, while tempting for highlighting clear turquoise water, creates flat, uninspiring shadows and intense glare.
Geometric Composition
When flying, look for natural leading lines and geometric symmetry. Frame your shots using coastlines, wooden overwater boardwalks, winding mountain roads, or rows of loungers on a beach. A top-down ’90-degree look’ directly over a subject (like a couple floating in a pool or walking on a sandspit) creates a striking graphic image with clean lines.
